2020 Kia Telluride

The 2020 Kia Telluride

Kia took the opportunity to show off the brand new 2020 Telluride this year at the Chicago Auto Show. We’ve been eager for a second look at this one since its debut at the Detroit Auto Show last month. The three-row Telluride is a completely new model for Kia this year, and upon release, it will become the Korean automaker’s largest car to date. It slots in above the Sorrento in Kia’s SUV lineup and shares a platform with the upcoming Hyundai Palisade.

Bold design language like the Telluride’s broad hood and wide grille give it a presence unlike anything we’ve seen in Kia’s lineup. Stacked headlamps and distinctive LED taillamps distinguish the design even further. Prominent nameplates on the hood and liftgate of the vehicle celebrate the choice of name for the Telluride, almost mocking the Euro-esque alphanumeric naming schemes of cars like Cadillac’s CT6.

While its design is not to be ignored, the Telluride’s strengths stretch far beyond its aesthetics alone. Kia’s largest model features a 291-hp 3.8-liter V-6, available all-wheel drive with multiple drive modes, and up to 5000 pounds of towing capacity. It will also seat up to eight passengers,
and do so very comfortably.

This being Kia’s new flagship SUV, it’s promised to be packed with luxury, whether your idea of luxury is a premium leather bag or the newest smartphone bursting with tech. Seating options include double-stitched quilted Nappa leather upholstery, and on the tech side the list is nearly
never-ending. Not only is the Telluride available with modern amenities like a 10.25-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless charging, it also benefits from an impressive collection of Kia Drive Wise driver-assist active safety features. Among the long list of included features are smart cruise control, forward collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, and lane keeping assist.

The American-designed Telluride is sure to make a splash in the market as freshly-built examples roll off the production line at Kia’s manufacturing facility in West Point, Georgia. Brimming with luxury, technology, and capability, The 2020 Kia Telluride will be available for the Connecticut market at Premier Kia in Branford Connecticut.
