Hyundai of Newport Leads All Dealers in Sales Increase for December 2019
Hyundai has released December 2019 sales totals for the Southern New England Region, and Hyundai of Newport in Middletown Rhode Island led all dealers with a two-hundred percent increase in year over year sales.
The next dealer had an increase of just over half that (one hundred and ten percent), while the overall dealer average for the group was flat year over year.
We asked Jon Narcessian, General Manager of Hyundai of Newport what he attributes the increase to.
“While Hyundai been increasing in quality for the last 20 years, 2019 was really a breakthrough year. Not only did the Hyundai family score all of the top three Initial Quality Survey spots, they’ve done so while keeping pricing consistent, and adding safety and technology items that used to be optional. And with the new SUVs that Hyundai has added, we now have a vehicle in nearly every segment of passenger car or SUV. We now have 6 different car lines and 6 different SUVs to choose from. Plus, we have hybrids, plug in hybrids and fully electric vehicles. It’s a very diverse lineup. And with safety being a big part of the purchase consideration, it’s important to note that Hyundai has 13 vehicles that are Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick Plus vehicles from the Insurance Institute for highway Safety when equipped with standard or optional equipment. That’s more than any other brand.”
While that’s great for the brand, we asked him what it is about his particular store that makes it stand out.
“We have some of the best customers of any dealership in the country. And they see the value and quality that Hyundai products have. And we have an entire dealership that’s dedicated to customer satisfaction. We’re the highest rated Hyundai dealership in the area, and we have had that honor for the last five years. And in Google reviews, again we’re the top-rated dealer. That comes from the top. We have an ownership group that looks at the long-term relationships with our customers. They put people over profits. Their philosophy is to satisfy our customers, and no shortcuts or gimmicks. It really pays off, and you see it in our CSI scores.”
