The 2019 Subaru Ascent will be available in the spring of 2018 at Anchor Subaru in North Smithfield RI.

Subaru of America introduced the Ascent today at the rooftop deck of the LA Live venue, during the press preview at the Los Angeles Auto Show

The Ascent is an all-new midsized SUV from Subaru. It will be the largest Subaru ever built, and can be configured to seat seven (with second row captains chairs) or eight if you choose the second row bench.

The Ascent’s engine will be the new 2.4 liter Boxer, which is turbocharged and will produce 260 horsepwer and will be mated to a new version of the Lineartronic CVT. Of course will come standard with Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.

It will come in four different versions, the base model, the Premium, the Limited, and the Touring. The Ascent will be built in the US, at Subaru’s Lafayette Indiana plant, and will be available late spring/early summer 2018.

The Ascent has 153.5 cubic feet of passenger volume, giving it more interior room than the Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, or the Ford Explorer.  It also bests the same three main competitors in wheelbase, at 113.8

Subaru has built the Ascent with rear doors that will open to 75 degrees which helps ingress and egress to the the third row.

And the outback will keep the family connected.  There will be a total of eight USB charging ports, and a 120-volt power outlet behind the center console for charging while traveling.

For comfort and convenience, the Ascent has 19 cup holders standard, along with 3 zone climate control.  There are also second row reading lights standard, and in any model above the base, reading lights for the third row are standard also.

The 2019 Subaru Ascent will be available in the Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts area at Anchor Subaru in North Smithfield RI.

Stay tuned for more details to come with Subaru’s official press release.
